SportMed Taping Workshops
Athletic Taping
This 8 hour workshop covers many of the taping techniques used in a sport setting through a combination of lecture and practical sessions. The morning session is designed as an introduction to taping. Safety considerations relating to taping will be introduced. Preventive and supportive techniques for the ankle will also be covered. The taping techniques covered in the afternoon session include regional techniques for the ankle, foot, elbow, wrist, thumb and finger. Procedures for injury prevention, minimizing the chance of further damage when injury occurs and for aiding the healing process are covered though a combination of lecture and practical sessions.
A certificate of completion will be issued.
Continuing education/professional development credits: College of Massage Therapists of BC (14).

Athletic Taping Refresher
This course is for individuals who have taken the SportMed Taping Workshop within the last 4 years and want to renew their SportMed Trainer Certificate. This is a 4-hour course that covers taping procedures for the ankle, foot, knee, elbow, wrist and hand. The course is designed to remind students of the athletic taping procedures previously learned and address questions and concerns about specific tape jobs or situations. It is designed to be a hands on course.
Continuing education/professional development credits: College of Massage Therapists of BC 4 credits.
