Join the SportMed Community

The SportMed Community features leaders in Sport Medicine, Sport Science and Sport Training and champions of physical activity, active living and sport health. It is comprised of our Practitioner Network, Leader Network, Participant Network and others.

It brings together a vibrant cross-section of sport leaders and participants, from both within the formal sport system (the core amateur sport system extended to varsity sport and professional sport) and from outside of it in the larger community of those leading, participating or interested in other private and public organizations, events and activities.

The SportMed Community is the most dynamic forum available for:

SportMed Practitioners (recognized sport medical and paramedical professionals, including physicians, psychologists, physiologists, physiotherapists, dietitians, chiropractors, podiatrists and sport scientists);

SportMed Leaders (dedicated volunteers and professionals committed to clinic programs for runners and walkers, first aid programs and special event programs);

SportMed Participants (active living people who register for SportMed clinics and programs, including SportMed RunWalk clinics, SunRun InTraining RunWalk clinics and sports first aid courses);

Sport Enthusiasts (active living people interested in their own sport health and well-being).

Under this one roof, the SportMed Community brings to life—online—a shared commitment to “Promoting Sport Health on the strength of the Best People, Best Practices and Best Programs in Sport Medicine, Sport Science and Sport Training.”

Register as an InTraining Clinic Leader
All confirmed 2010 InTraining Clinic Leaders can sign up to gain entry to the Sun Run InTraining Leader Community Network. Here you will find a resource and communication centre designed specifically to help you fulfill your leadership duties at your clinic. Please note that your name MUST appear on your clinic coordinator's list that was submitted to SportMedBC PRIOR to signing up here (or your submission will be rejected). You will need to sign up as a Community Member first if you have not already.

List Your Name in the Online Directory of Practitioners
SportMedBC's Directory of Practitioners is a comprehensive resource that lists sport medicine and sport science practitioners throughout the province. Before submitting your information to the directory, please check to ensure that you meet the minimum standards for inclusion. You must be a current member of the SportMed Community in order to add a listing.
