SportMed RunWalk
Our Leaders
SportMed RunWalk programs are led by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of SportMedBC staff- Lynn Kanuka, Susan Nguyen, Shannon McBurney, Marise Okruhlica and Nicole Cook. Additionally, our staff are assisted by area coordinators who oversee the implementation of InTraining clinics - Nancy Coles (Richmond/Delta/White Rock), Rainy Kent (Burnaby), Charlene Wharton (Vancouver), Sherry Baker (Coquitlam, New West), Femina Fidai (North Shore), Ceddy Nash (Fraser Valley), Barb Turmann (Langley), Anjulie Latta (Vancouver).
The SportMed RunWalk Program has over 1000 volunteer leaders associated with our clinics from year to year. Without these leaders, our Sun Run InTraining clinics and other programs would not be possible.
Meet some of our SportMed RunWalk leaders. These individuals have all received recognition as leaders who have demonstrated enthusiam, dedication and support beyond expectations:

The Sun RunInTraining Leader of the Year award was named in honor of the late Jim Swan, a dedicated and inspirational leader with the Mission Clinic. Jim along with other members of his family came to the InTraining Program initially as participants and subsequently out of his desire to help others improve their fitness and commitment to health, became a leader.
Participants recall that Jim had a “warm touch, and that he genuinely cared about you”. He inspired so many people through his involvement with InTraining.
